Story
Once again, I find myself in an unprecedented situation completely by accident. My luck with running event ballots is becoming impressive...if only I could replicate my success in the lottery.
Now that I've completed a few 10kms and a couple of half-marathons, I sadly can't hide behind "not being a runner" anymore. I still maintain that I'm not a very good runner though, and these races really are a challenge for me. I've always been pretty adamant that I'd never run a marathon (a full 42.195km/26.2 miles) but here we are!
I'm running this race to support the incredible Jessie May. A charity local to me here in Bristol and one that is truly deserving of every penny I can raise for them. Please check our their amazing and unrelenting work here: https://jessiemay.org.uk/
Training has now begun and I am complementing this with endless reading and podcast listening to ensure I am as prepared as can be. I can safely say this will be the single most difficult challenge I've ever faced but it will also hopefully be my biggest ever achievement to date.
I can't wait to see if I can pull this off so in the meantime whilst I pound the pavements, please please please donate anything you can to ease my pain and support the team at Jessie May.
Thank you, and I'll see you on the big day - either in person or hopefully on the telly.
