Earlier this year I decided to enter a half marathon after hearing updates from Ukraine.  This is crazy as I have never run this far, I plod along slowly and don't really know what I'm doing!

Hope and Homes for Children continue to support displaced families in Ukraine and neighbouring countries. They have a long history of reuniting children in orphanages back with their families, as over 80% do have parents. Frequently parents are advised to give up their children as babies due to poverty and/or disability; rather than putting in support that would help the whole family to stay together and there were over 100,000 children in institutions before the war began. These large institutions are minimally staffed, harm childrens development and abuse frequently occurs. Hope and Homes will stay in Ukraine after the headlines fade away. I am a long term supporter of HHC, & the need is greater than ever as the dislocation of war has seen child trafficking rise, children forcibly removed to Russia for adoption and children abandoned in orphanages as staff are fearful for their own survival. HHC remain to provide direct services to families & track and support children at risk due to the war. I would appreciate any donations towards my target. Thank you 🙏🏽
