http://mmander.wix.com/womenvcancer2015The remaining reason for me starting to raise money to help fight this disgusting disease will be laid to rest on the 23rd December. My fabulous Auntie, leaves us all reeling. It has been a heartbreaking year as our family and friends seem to have been decimated by cancer. My best friend of 30 years has been laid to rest at 45 years old she was far, far too young to die. I am going to miss her forever and I am even more determined to raise as much as possible to help others suffering. Since Christmas 2013 I have now lost one of my favourite uncles, and two wonderful Aunties to cancer. I lost my big sister 4 years ago now, Annie was the reason I started raising money by cycling. My mum was taken from us at 65 years old, she had so much still to see and do. All these wonderful people were unaware they were even ill in their previous year. That is something that scares the c**p out of me. We have to do something. In May this year I raised £400+ by cycling 100km around London at night, it was an amazing experience and I will be doing it again in 2015. However, this challenge takes place in October 2015 and I am riding 350kms through Africa. I am a very novice cyclist and I am guessing my rear is going to be able to tell its own story by the end of this, but it will be totally worth all the pain.
If you are reading my story, I know you have someone affected too, please allow me to try to help by raising as much as possible to help with the research and care.
