Story
Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page. We're raising money to support an amazing project at The University of Manchester - the Manchester Innocence Project - and we hope you will help.
The Project is a staff-student collaboration aimed at helping the wrongfully convicted and promoting positive change in the justice system. Under the supervision of staff and volunteers, students at the Manchester Innocence Project take on live criminal appeals where there is evidence of a miscarriage of justice.
Our supervised students support clients through every stage of the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) application process, with the goal of proving that a miscarriage of justice has occurred.
The Manchester Innocence Project is a pro-bono organisation, we cover the costs of supporting our clients ourselves. By donating to the Manchester Innocence Project today you can help our students and staff continue their valuable work, supporting victims of wrongful convictions. £30 pays for one student to go on a prison visit. £500 pays for essential transcripts of a trial. Donations will also cover the cost of courier expenses for case files, allowing access to important evidence.
