Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are raising money for the Derby Hospitals Charitable Trust as a small token of appreciation for their outstanding hard work and dedication.
Back in February 2016, one of our group was suddenly diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rapid-onset muscle weakness caused by the immune system damaging the peripheral nervous system. This disorder can be life threatening.
Dean, who was diagnosed with the syndrome was hospitalised and spent over 3 months in intensive care requiring mechanical breathing and constant care, fortunately for Dean he made a positive recovery and spent the following 6 weeks in rehab, learning to walk, regain strength and eventually returning to normality.
During Dean’s time at Derby Royal Hospital, his friends and family saw first hand just how important the NHS is to our country, and also how hardworking and dedicated all the staff involved are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
As a group, we want to try and raise as much money as possible to what is a fantastic cause, which has now become very close to all of our hearts.
Please donate anything you can, big or small. Anything will be greatly appreciated.
