Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

About Me
My name is Malachy Mallon, I own the Dolphin Takeaway in Dungannon, Co-Tyrone, Northern Ireland.  I'm passionate about cycling, about fish & chips and about helping support The Fishermen's Mission and our brave, hardworking fishermen - without them there'd be no fish and chips!

My Personal Challenge - Fish, Chips & Bicycle Clips' - an Epic UK Cycle Tour!  I've set myself the challenge be the first person ever to cycle to all the UK Top 10 Fish & Chip Shops and I aim to do it in less than three weeks. From 20th May - 8th June 2017, I'll cycle 1500 miles on 19 consecutive days (weather permitting), across Northern Ireland, Scotland, England & Wales. I'm aiming to raise £15,000 - £10 pounds for every mile I cycle!

The Inspiration - and the Route?
My shop, the Dolphin Takeaway was privileged to win the 2017 Northern
Ireland Regional Winner's title in the Seafish National Fish & Chip Awards and is one of the UK Top 10 Shops. That set me thinking… what better way to celebrate and give back to the industry than to raise funds for the Fishermen's Mission by cycling the entire route of all the UK Top 10 Fish & Chip shops!

Why Support The Fishermen's Mission?
Fishing remains the most dangerous peacetime occupation in the UK; that’s why fishermen need our support 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The Fishermen’s Mission is the only fishermen’s charity that
provides emergency support alongside practical, financial, spiritual and
emotional care, helping all fishermen, active or retired, and their
families.

PLEASE  help support my epic UK charity cycle and the worthy Fishermen's Mission!

ANY donation amount is most welcome and please SHARE this fundraising page and my story with family, friends and colleagues.

THANK YOU so much for your generous donations, goodwill  and support!

The Fishermen's Mission is the only national charity that works solely to support active and retired fishermen and their families by providing practical, financial and pastoral support. Fishing is dangerous and unpredictable. Hardship and tragedy are facts of everyday life in the UK’s fishing
