Story

Sponsor me for TWO half marathons for the price of One!
I choose to run in aid of the British Heart Foundation, because of I've worked in research all my working life and as many of you may be aware, my wife Angela and her dad have some heart problems. Angela is had in a new valve installed on June 23rd - and so far everything has gone as expected ans she's recovering well.

While I was a runner once I hadn't done anything for 17 years so in February a 14st 11lb blob started training for the Great North Run, hopefully it will do both my heart and many others some good. (you can follow my progress on my blog Malcolm Runs to Newcastle)

Great North Run is over and I completed it in 3:09:54, slightly slower than I hoped but the heat, the hills and going too quick at the start all contributed.

The Royal Parks Half marathon was on October 11th.  A smaller event but still 15,000 entries, cooler day, on flatter ground and logistically much easier.  I did much better there getting round in 2:50:14.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Heart Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thanks to every to who has sponsored me

Malcolm
