I’ve completed this challenge 5 times. It’s an extremely difficult endurance running feat and I’m so proud of what I’ve previously achieved but feel I can still take this challenge further. Sadly I failed to complete the challenge in 2017due to a knee injury and shows I can’t take this challenge for granted. I was very disappointed not to complete the event so to come back in 2018 and complete the challenge was a massive relief and felt like one of my best running accomplishments ever.
If I can complete it for a 6th time then combined with my runs of the single Brathay Windermere Marathon I will have run more official laps of Lake Windermere than anyone else. I would love to take this record. I know exactly what it involves, and although I’ve run the course many times I’ll well aware nothing is guaranteed.
I’m looking forward to be once again raising money for the Brathay Trust. Brathay Hall is a wonderfully special place that touches everyone that is lucky enough to go there. If I can help young disadvantaged people have the opportunity to be helped by Brathay, experience the beautiful Lake District and the inspiring Brathay Hall then I know it all worthwhile.
Also Brathay manage Wigan Council’s Low Bank Ground outdoor centre at Coniston were thousands of local school children visit each year. Please help me support this facility so our local kids get the chance to experience many outdoor activities in the scenic Lake District. These short school trips give children great experiences and memories that last a life time. Each year Brathay helps over 5000 children and young people both in their own environment and also by taking them on residential courses at Brathay Hall. I hope you can find the generosity to support my challenge and send Brathay a donation.
All donations however great or small will be much appreciated. They will make all the sweat and pain during the event feel worthwhile. They will also make a big impact on the lives of the many young people that Brathay will be able to touch due to your help.
