Story
I aim to complete one of the toughest running challenges in the UK and break my own record at the same time by running the Brathay 10 marathons in 10 days challenge for a 10th (and final) time. To do this I will run the officially measured 26.2 mile marathon course around lake Windermere, one complete lap each day in order to raise funds for Brathay Trust.
I know I have done this NINE times before, but I have also failed one
attempt. In some of those years, I have picked up injuries and it has been painful to carry on each day to complete the challenge.
I still have on going problems with my right knee, probably all the years of running are starting to catch up with me. This means my training and preparation will have to balanced to carefully managed it so I can be prepared but not aggravate my knee.
Even with all my experience of the event, I am under no illusion of how difficult the event is. I have failed it once before and know my body and in particular my right knee is wearing. It won't be easy but I am committed to extending my endurance record of this event.
Since starting running the 10in10 back in 2011, I have raised over £52,000 for Brathay and I hope to add to this total. Brathay Hall is a very special place that touches the hearts of all that come here. Your donations will help many more children and young people to be inspired by this wonderful place and go on to improve their lives and those of others around them.

I would love you to help support my challenge and Brathay by giving a
donation. Your support will help me not only train and prepare but also motivate me to drag myself around WIndermere for the hard 10 days during the event.
