Story
Hi, I am Maisie, a Final Year Law Student at the University of Kent, and In 2022 I will be climbing Kilimanjaro. The climb is in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation; a charity which aims to research and raise awareness of two serious diseases, Meningitis and Septicaemia. This amazing charity work to support the families of those diagnosed, provide better access to vaccines, and create systems to help treat and diagnose those who are sadly affected.
My climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro is a personal aim I have held for many years, and I could not be more excited to tackle this in aid of such an accomplished foundation. Climbing in aid of MRF brings much more meaning to a challenge I have always wanted to face. Whilst it poses as a somewhat daunting task, I cannot wait to start training and fundraising with my team for what will be a trip of a lifetime!
Shockingly, meningitis and neonatal sepsis are the second biggest infectious killer of children under the age of five on the planet, affecting more than 5 million people every year. Thanks to your support they've pioneered a global roadmap, bringing together global expertise to defeat meningitis by 2030. With your donations, I will be able to summit the highest single free-standing mountain in the world, all whilst raising money to support the immensely brave fighters of Meningitis and Septicaemia.
In order to travel to Kilimanjaro I must meet my £3,500 fundraising target for MRF, they are then able to cover my travel costs. Therefore, every donation is hugely important to me, and the foundation. Thank you for your involvement, and please use the 'give now' button to donate!
