On the 2nd October 2022 I will be running the London marathon for The National Autistic Society! The National Autistic Society is the UK's leading charity for people on the autism spectrum, supporting them and their families. Since 1962, they have been providing support, guidance and advice, as well as campaigning for improved rights, services and opportunities to help create a society that works for autistic people. The National Autistic Society doesn’t just support autistic child, they support autistic adults with everything from employee mental and independent living. However, there is still a long way to go in terms of opportunities, support and acceptance. Lockdown has been particularly difficult and has highlighted the challenges that autism can bring when the world gets thrown out of routine. The National Autistic Society is a charity very close to my heart, my family and I know the importance of a service like this. The London marathon is going to be a massive challenge not just physically but mentally too but I am excited to tackle it!  Thank you for reading my reasons for running, I am so grateful for any donation regardless of how big or small. Even some words of motivation will be amazing!
