Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After a couple of serious injuries and trauma in the last 2 years I was feeling a little nervous about getting on a bike again. So when I met the inspirational Helen Butters (one of the four Yorkshire ladies who rowed across the Atlantic) and she talked about the challenge of a bike ride between Leeds and Barcelona for charity, it provided me with the motivation to get out on my bike again.
Maggie's charity, who have recently opened a centre in Barcelona, provide care and emotional support to all those affected by cancer, a disease which has touched most of us in some way, shape or form over the years.
Eight of us will depart from Maggie's in Leeds at the end of April and cycle across Yorkshire before boarding the ferry to Rotterdam. We then work our way down through Holland, Belgium and France before crossing the Pyrenees into Spain. It will be a total of 1200 miles over 14 days.
We are covering our own costs on this challenge so 100% of your donation will go directly to Maggie's. Operating costs at Maggie's are £2,400 per day and due to the pandemic fundraising has been very difficult in the last two years.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this and all donations, however small, are greatly appreciated and will make a difference.
