Story
Hi everyone,
My story is pretty simple - till last year I thought that I was young and full of energy and kept postponing really important things in this life - like helping people in need. All what I was doing were down to some one-off donations now and then, however I always wanted to do more, to struggle for a good reason, to help people and hence make myself a better person.
Being a Muslim in the modern world is a challenge by its own with all negative aura currently cultivated in the mass media. Thus it is even more important to show people who we really are and what the true message of Islam is. Last year I had a serious problem with my health – all of a sudden one day I woke up with a painful glaucoma in my right eye. This condition lasted for about a year and with the Grace of Allah after an operation my eye is slowly getting better now. Nevertheless I took it is a signal – our health will not be always with us and it is our duty to get everything out of it until it is not too late. I decided to start with something simple – climbing Snowdon Mountain – it may be not that impressive as going to Zanzibar or swimming across the English Channel. Honestly it was the first thing that I came across when I decided to start my fundraising. So let it be climbing :)
I promise to climb Snowdon - I’ll go up the hill for 8 miles ahead and 900 meters up. It may sound like not a big deal but I’ve never done that before and this will definitely be a challenge for me. All what I raise will go towards “Islamic help” charity – no, not to support militants in Afganistan :) – but to provide most deprived people with food, water, education and most of all – hope.
Thank you!
