Story

I am raising funds for CRIBS International - a charity whose work I admire and support. CRIBS houses refugees in Athens who are pregnant or have a baby under the age of 12 months and provide safe accommodation, living expenses, medical and social support during those very difficult months. The charity is currently facing a funding shortfall of around £35,000 due in part to the Covid pandemic and also due to the Greek authorities declaring that it is to withdraw cash card support for all asylum seekers except those in official accommodation from July. This will increase homelessness, destitution and exploitation among migrants enormously. It will expose many to increased police and fascist violence. It will mean new babies born to homeless mothers will be put in state orphanages. Please help me to help the CRIBS families (17 are housed currently including 2 newborn babies) by supporting my fundraising campaign.

By providing shelter, safety and support, we get women and their families off the streets of Athens and empower them to begin to recover from trauma and rebuild their lives. Through our free shop, community space and case workers, our work significantly improves the lives of displaced people.
