Story
We're running the Port Sunlight 10K on June 17 with a 'KITCHEN TABLE' to raise funds for the amazing, fabulous, brilliant and vital Maggie's Merseyside Cancer Centre.
Stu from the National Asbestos Helpline put the rough tough team of Ali, Rich, Manda and Vern together to help him carry the kitchen table more than 6 miles around the beautiful village of Port Sunlight.
Why a kitchen table? We're carrying a kitchen table because it is the focal point of every Maggie's Centre in the country. Anyone impacted by cancer can walk into a Maggie's Centre, grab a cup of tea, may be a biscuit, sit down at the kitchen table and for a while not feel like a patient.
Based within the grounds of the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Maggie's Merseyside is an extraordinary place. Maggie’s in Clatterbridge offers a way of living well with cancer. This includes making sure that people with cancer, as well as their family and friends, are listened to, that they are offered tailored individual support, group support and practical advice, all delivered by qualified professionals within a space that enables them to meet other people who understand what it means to be living with cancer too.
Donate if you can and definitely tell everyone you know about Maggie's Centre because they, or someone they know, might need a place to go one day...
