I'm Sharon, I'm 41 years old and when I was 14 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I found a lump in my breast, I had surgery, chemotherapy whilst I was pregnant and then after I gave birth to my miracle boy Thomas. I had radiotherapy. I finished my treatment on Monday the 17th of October 2016. 4 days later I found out that one of my close friends Emma had breast cancer.I'm Emma, I'm 44 years old I found my lump brushing yogurt off my top !! Watching Sharon go through everything I didn't hesitate and went to the doctor straight away. Sharon was a great support, she was able to answer so many of my questions, she also introduced me to Maggie's. I have to admit I was in shock when I found out I had breast cancer. Things moved pretty fast. I had a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
We both used the support offered in the West London Maggie's Centre and now want to give back. The centre offered us a sympathetic ear as well as the chance to relax with other people who have been on a similar journey through cancer.
