Story
So I'm running this 10k for a couple of reasons.
Certainly to get back in shape and kickstart a new year, run through an
ice tunnel, and get hugged by a polar bear, but also to do something fun, positive,
and friend-filled in a beautiful city on an otherwise awful date. On February 1
last year, my honorary 19 year-old 'little sister' had a skiing accident and left this earthly party. Kendra didn't die of cancer, but it's a charity she cared about a
lot. She was full of life, energy, laughter, goofiness, sincerity,
kindness, and joy.
Her goals from last year are below. Because of 4, I'll be working on 2 and 5 at the race, every day I work on 6 and 7, and when the race is over friends are meeting me with champagne and cookies to take a crack at number 3.
Her Goals:
1. Take advantage of the education you're receiving and do well
2. Make more lasting relationships
3. Be classier drunks.
4. Beware of the funk
5. Be spontaneous - Live your lives
6. Be kind
7. LOVE
I'm not doing this for money-raising, but if you've found yourself saying, "wow, I wish I had a reason to contribute towards a good cause," then I'm happy to be an excuse.
