The Greenhouse Trust owns and operates Norwich’s Environment Centre, a working model of how old buildings can be equipped for the 21st century via environmental retrofitting including micro-renewables. The building houses a shop, café, meeting room and offices used to promote sustainable living.

Story

The Greenhouse Trust owns and operates a listed building in Norwich restored to high environmental standards. In order to raise funds for our educational work, we are undertaking a sponsored virtual journey to the UN climate change convention in Durban, South Africa. It is approximately 10,000km to Durban so we’re splitting it up between a whole host of volunteers – I have agreed to do a minimum of 50km a week for the four weeks of October on a static bicycle at my local gym – a total of 200km and something of a challenge for someone who hasn’t been on any kind of bike for a decade. Plus I have discovered that static bikes don’t give you the option of freewheeling...
