To make my turning 30 less painful I decided to do something meaningful this year. That's why I decided to challenge myself and raise money for the Manchester United Foundation.

Thanks to my job at MUTV I worked closely with the Manchester United Foundation for the last few years and was able to witness the wonderful work they do and the real difference they make in local communities.

 

They work in some of the most disadvantaged areas across Greater Manchester and use the passion for Manchester United to educate, motivate and inspire young people. They deliver football coaching, skills training, personal development and life changing experiences, providing young people with opportunities to change their lives for the better. 

 

For the past year I have been working on a documentary about Manchester United Deaf Team which has been created by the Foundation and it's a part of their disability football programme. Thanks to this project I have met a lot of fantastic people who put a lot of hard work in building the team, I have seen what being a part of this team and the achievements of the team mean to this boys. And that's only one of the examples of MU Foundation great work.

 

So about the challenge, it's a 150 mile cycle through the volcanic landscape of Iceland and will take place between 3 and 8 of September 2014. Those who know me realise that physical exercises are definitely not my favourite form of passing free time. That's why if you think it will be a pleasant cycle through beautiful scenery you must know that for me it will be like climbing Mount Everest, and cycle through mountains and rivers is definitely not what I have ever done before. But I'm going to give it a go. And I am going to film it all so you will be able to see the results on MUTV.
