Story
In 2011 a band of nutcases rode the seven seater bike from Bristol to St Austell and in 2012 rode through seven counties of the South West. The bike is very rare, there are only three in the U.K. It's the size of a Micra, unmanned it weighs 3/4 tonne and has just one gear.
During these very successful trips we raised over £25,000 for Children's Hospice South West. At the end of the 2012 ride some of the older members had a Sir Steve Redgrave moment and said "If I ever talk about getting back on that bike you have permission to shoot me"
Well 3 years has eased the pain or perhaps our old age has caused us to forget, but the Children's Hospice SW still needs our support and the bike always manages to pull a crowd so we have decided to do one last ride.
We are linking this trip to the Rugby World Cup and riding from Gloucester to Truro. We will carry the ball on our travels and encourage some celebrities and sporting stars joining us, to throw a ball to the team on the bike, hence our theme of the longest pass
The ride is 11 days, stopping amongst other places in Cribbs Causeway, Weston-s-Mare, Street, Glastonbury, Bridgwater, Taunton, Collumpton, Exeter Princesshay, Dawlish, Teignmouth, Shaldon, Paignton, Torbay, Totnes, Plymouth, Liskeard, Dobwalls, St Austell, Fraddon and Truro. We will also be returning home to Barnstaple on Sunday 27 Sept to lead out the Barnstaple Marathon from Rock Park
If you are nearby please come and see us, maybe take a ride on the bike and help us on our way with a donation. Dates and times are available on our facebook page "magsevenrideagain"
