We provide support services and work to reduce the number of baby deaths

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Our beautiful baby girl Maeve Elizabeth McCormack died during labour on 16th April 2013.  We are hearbroken by her loss and miss her so much.  We have been overwhelmed by the support of family and friends at this terrible time and by the number of people who have asked to make a donation in Maeve's memory.  We have therefore set up this page to enable you to donate if you would like to.

The staff on the labour ward at the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow, where Maeve was born, were absolutely incredible.  They looked after us so well and made the most awful of times as easy as possible for us.  They helped us to create precious memories with Maeve, which are carrying us through our grief.

We want to help the labour ward staff to continue to support other families affected by the loss of their baby.  Donations via SANDS can enable the creation of memory boxes for bereaved parents.  We look through Maeve's memory box every day and it gives us comfort and strength.

Thank you so much for considering donating in Maeve's memory.
