Story
On Sunday 4th September I will be running my first 10K in aid of Paul for Brain recovery charity.
The run will commemorate 10 years since the founder of the charity was punched in an unprovoked attack and suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result. Read more here : https://paulforbrainrecovery.co.uk/pauls-story/
I will be running in memory of my dad, Darrel Grainger, who passed away as a result of his traumatic brain injury on the 9th September 2012. It will be almost 10 years to the date of his passing when I run the 10K, giving it an extra personal meaning.
I would love it if people could donate to help a local, and very much needed charity!!! This charity provides so much, well needed support for people with brain injuries, strokes etc. in the area, and to the wider public. Had this been around during my dads time in care it would have been a very useful service in a multitude of ways, and so I hope others can benefit from such a charity!
I am not a runner! I can barely run down the stairs and so this is a huge challenge for me! I have begun training using the NHS couch to 5K app, and so far I seem to be enjoying it!! Once I can comfortably complete a 5K I will increase my training to be able to run an entire 10K.
By beginning my training now I can work my way up to running 10K by September.
Looking forward to what lies ahead!
All the best,
Mae!
