Story
On 2nd October 2022, I am running the London Marathon in support of Street Child.
Street Child works with local organisations to ensure every child has access to an education. Its purpose is to see all children safe, in school and learning - especially in low resource environments and emergencies.
For those living in extreme poverty, in urban slums, refugee camps, and those communities affected by war or previous humanitarian disasters, suffering is the norm but Street Child is working to change that.
Your support of my Street London Marathon at this critical time could be the difference between communities thriving or not.
£30 Could provide learning kits for three children in Nigeria. These kits provide basic stationery, textbooks, and water bottles, meaning the children can fully engage in school.
£33 could provide an out-of-school child in Liberia with an education support package for a whole year, including a school bag, a clean uniform, exercise book and pens!
£40 Could help train a community-based case worker to protect Rohingya refugee girls from sexual, physical and psychological abuse.
£175 Could help set up a community-based, child-friendly space for Rohingya refugee children in Coxs Bazar, where children and girls can be safe, in school, and learning.
I was one of many people that picked up running during the pandemic and it's the best thing I've ever stuck with. Now after four half-marathons and over 3,000km, I'm ready to up my game, and hopefully raise some money for an excellent cause.
Any donations small or large would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you so much,
Maddy
