Story
I have been lucky enough to be selected to run the London Marathon 2024 for Prostate Cancer UK. This will be my first ever marathon. Never for a second did I think I'd get in but training is now very much under way!
This is a charity that is very close to our hearts for myself and my brother Dominic. As our Dad - Tibor Sandor Budd - has terminal cancer. He was first diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2008. He then was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2019. Cancer has never ever stopped our Dad from living his best life, especially walking his beloved dog Kutya. But last year at the end of April 2023, Dad started to feel more unwell and spent 10 weeks in hospital. We got the news that sadly his cancer has gone terminal and the Doctor confirmed he only has a short time left to live.
Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed male cancer in the UK, yet current treatments are limited and can be harmful particularly for the late stages. Prostate cancer kills 1 in 8 men. That's one dad, partner, brother, son, grandad, uncle or friend.
It would mean so very much for our family if you could donate, any amount will make a world of difference for people going through this terrible disease, as well as people yet to face it.
Thank you Madeleine xx
