Palestine Olive Tree Challenge · 8 May 2020 ·
As many of you know, I've been itching to fundraise recently. No better time to start than in the month of Ramadan!
Unlike all my previous fundraisers that involved mountains, this one will be done from the comfort of my home, seeing as we are in unprecedented times. So please come on board and help me smash my target of £5,000! So what am I doing this time, some of you may be wondering? As the headline states, I'll be fundraising for the Palestine Olive Tree Challenge because every day, Palestinian people are suffering from poverty and occupation. Olive trees provide the main source of livelihood for over a million Palestinians, helping to sustain generations to come.
Through years of conflict and occupation, over 2 million Palestinian olive trees have been uprooted and destroyed. Olive trees are a bountiful blessing for the people of Palestine and a vital source of income for poor farmers. The fruit they bear provides Sunnah food and the Prophet (saw) himself said: "Eat the olive and use it as an ointment as it comes from a blessed tree." (Tirmidhi)
The Palestine Olive Tree Challenge is raising funds to plant 3,000 olive trees in the Jordan Valley, Jenin, Salfeet, Jerusalem, Hebron and Tulkarem to improve the lives of poor Palestinian farmers and their families.
One tree will cost you £10 and you can donate as many trees as you like. You can also donate on behalf of a loved one or someone that has passed away. Zakah and Sadaqah donations both accepted. Help me achieve my target whilst earning the reward of sadaqah jariyah - a blessed form of charity that offers us ongoing rewards throughout our lives, in this world as well as the Hereafter, insha'Allah
A little olive tree seedling has the power to change lives - Big things really do come in small packages, Alhamdulillah!
Donate now and reap the rewards forever.
