Story
On Sunday 3rd October 2021, I will be running in The Virgin Money London Marathon to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK in loving memory of my Granny.
Running in the London Marathon has been a lifelong ambition, so being able to support such an incredible cause that is very close to my heart is extremely special to me. Having the opportunity to raise funds and awareness will help to keep up the efforts in improving this illness. Due to the last year becoming very difficult with COVID, so many lives have been affected and it has restricted so many families and friends from being able to see each other, especially people who are extremely ill with Alzheimer’s. By raising this target, it will help to support those in need and who are finding times like these hard.
A beautiful, kind and incredible grandparent was taken from me too early in my life. Having this opportunity to run in the London Marathon to support someone extremely close to my heart is exceptionally special to me. I am now at an age where I am old enough to understand more about the condition of Alzheimer’s and to do something about it. Every day I wish I could speak to her and tell her how much I miss her which is heart-breaking to think about, however, I don’t want other people in my situation feeling this way either. I want the charity to continue getting the funding it needs to support those with close family members and friends who are affected, this is extremely important to me.
I believe fundraising is crucial for Alzheimer’s Research UK as the money will help those who are suffering now and need support TODAY. I would greatly appreciate all your support!
Alzheimer's Research is the UK's leading dementia research charity... dementia is very common and everyday 600 people in the UK develop dementia. Nobody should face dementia alone. Alzheimer's Research vision is for a world where people are free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia. I am here to support their vision and raise the money to improve care, treatment and information needed to defeat this illness and to successfully find a cure. As well as, supporting their mission which is to bring out the first life-changing dementia treatment by 2025!
Thanking everyone who supports me on this journey!
