The 2Simple Trust helps families of children suffering from neuroblastoma. Help is given by the provision of financial assistance for treatment and other needs as well as the funding of research into the disease. This work will shortly be transferred to a new charity set up specifically for the purpose and called The Neuroblastoma Children’s Cancer Alliance.

Story

On Saturday 30 January I swam 5 KILOMETRES at Coventry Sports Centre. That's 100 lengths of our olympic pool, or 200 of your everyday standard pool. And I'm only 10. It took me 2 and a half hours!

I’m helping raise £250,000 for Jamie Inglis to get immunotherapy treatment in the USA.  He's four years old; that's him in the Power Ranger PJs. Jamie has  beaten Neuroblastoma cancer through eight lots of chemo, and yet he's still smiling. Just check out his cheeky chops!

However, the chances of his cancer recurring over the next year is high; this is caused by microscopic cells which survive chemo. Sadly, if Jamie relapses the chance of a cure is very small.  Immunotherapy targets those cells specifically but Jamie needs to complete this treatment by mid March 2010 or it wont ever work.

When I was a baby and needed hospital treatment I was lucky, I could get what I needed here in the UK. But Jamie can't. Please help him get better so that when he's a bit older I can swim with him.

Even if you can’t afford to sponsor me, please pass this amongst your friends on facebook and via email.

Thanks

Maddie the Mackerel
