Story
Hello and welcome to the MadMuppets charity giving page. Let me tell you a little about my trip. ( you can also find out more on fb and insta under “Madmuppetadventures”
So, starting at St Catherine's Point Lighthouse on the beautiful IOW, I will cycle to Cape Wrath Lighthouse in Scotland ( mainland Britain's, most north westerly point).
Just to make it a little bit more challenging I will be riding off-road ( 95% anyway), solo and self-supported, carrying my tent, sleeping bag and cooking equipment as well as untold kg's of apparently "essential items"…..although whenever there is a pub with a cosy bed en route….that will probably be plan A !
....oh and I have decided not to cycle the most direct route, choosing to boomerang my way around Wales before heading east to pick up the Great North Trail.....should be roughly 1200 miles without navigation issues ( knew there was something I'd forgotten to learn !!)....so who knows what the final number will be ?
Whilst the intention of the trip is more of a personal challenge, I have been asked a number of times whether I would be raising money for charity, so have set this page up to raise much needed funds for Cystic Fibrosis, a charity that is very close to my heart.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing. Cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting our physical health, mental wellbeing and how we choose to live our lives. But our community is uniting towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all. Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis.
