Story
My Daughter was diagnosed with Cancer last year and is currently receiving treatment, which makes this challenge even more significant to me.
We have all been touched in someway by cancer. We have all had family members or friends that have needed services.
On 13th July 2019 five of us from Mac Civils will be running The Wirral Way 10k to raise 10k! We are taking on this challenge to raise money for The Christie Teenage and young Adult Unit in Manchester.
The Christie charity provides life-changing work to support cancer patients and more than 44,000 cancer patients are treated at The Christie every year.
So many people are affected by Cancer every day, either first hand, or
through a family member or friend.
Your Support can help The Christie to fund potentially life-saving
projects, that will benefit Cancer patients both now and in the future.
Any donation you can give will make a difference, just click the link below.
The Christie Teenage and Young Adult Service
The types of cancer that affect teenagers and young adults are different from those that typically affect older adults or young children. They therefore need their own research programmes and specialist care.
At the Christie, there is a dedicated TYA unit that was built in 2015 from charitable funds. As they are looking to expand their TYA research team so that they can improve the treatment options available for our young patients.
It is our aim to raise £10,000 for The Christie Teenage and Young Adult Service to help the charity expand, develop and continue to provide such a great service.
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and please dig deep for this very worthwhile cause and supporting us as we have moved outside our comfort zones, packed in the cigarettes cut down on the drink and are hitting the training hard.
