Le Tour De Ian

A mad idea to cycle from our childhood village of Shillingford St. George near Exeter to the principality of Monaco on the Mediterranean coast in memory of Ian my brother. Ian travelled over to Monaco in 1990 initially managing an English pub on the port before moving onto stewarding luxury yachts. It was through Ian that I was able to make the same trip in 1994 and spend 10 memorable years working there. It seems fitting to make this trip again albeit on 2 wheels to remember Ian.
The Journey will begin on Sunday 28th July from Shillingford St. George where 5 not so professional cyclists and a back up vehicle will make the trip to Plymouth via Dartmoor to catch the overnight ferry to Roscoff.
Once in France we will be cycling 100+ miles a day in order to arrive on the 7th August at the finishing line, conveniently the Ship and Castle English pub in Monaco to raise a glass with family and friends to Ian. Joining me on this epic adventure will be my brother Neil, nephew Julen, brother in law Simon and family friend Roger. Mandy, my other half has agreed to drive the support vehicle.
With your help we hope to raise a few quid for the British Heart foundation.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
