Story

Hello there 👋 , I’m Ian, 64 living in Lancashire. Newcomer to cycling, first squeezed myself in to Lycra for the first time in 2017. Having a TIA (mini stroke) in 2016, I decided my health needed my attention! So I got on a bike, only to then be set back by a knee op to repair a torn meniscus! 🙄 Something I’m experienced in sadly, having had numerous knee ops prior to this! Back to it and in 2018, things stepped up a gear and my belly disappeared! 😄 Did my first sportive the West Coast Classic, then the York 100 and the Cumbrian Cracker 🚴🏻‍♂️ Exhilarating, accomplished distances I never thought possible and I’m well and truly bitten by the cycling bug! 😊

2018 was also the year I lost mum suddenly to cancer (CUP, Cancer of an Unknown Primary). Wanting to honour her in some way whilst raising some money for @cr_uk the idea of the M2M1500 challenge was born. I will be cycling from Morecambe in Lancashire to Mojácar in Spain, a place my mum visited many times and had planned one last visit to that sadly never happened. The challenge is to cover 1500 miles spread over 3 weeks in May 2019. I would be so grateful of any donation you can give to this very worthwhile charity.

Thank you
