Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am lucky to be the father of 2 amazing and beautiful children, Seth and Isla. Whilst watching the 2017 London Marathon on TV at home with them I asked if they would like to come and support daddy in running it one day — to which they both excitedly said yes!
It has been a life-long ambition of mine to run the London Marathon so I thought it was a fantastic opportunity in 2018 to combine this, along with a celebration of my 40th birthday, and most importantly the opportunity to be able to both raise awareness of STEPS, and the incredible work they do for so many children and the support and guidance they provide to countless parents, as well as trying to give something back by raising as much sponsorship as I can for a charity which is very close indeed to my heart and who count ourselves amongst those countless parents fortunate enough to have had their help and support in the past.
My son, Seth, was born with Congenital Bilateral Talipes and STEPS were absolutely amazing to my wife and I in providing support and guidance during Seth's Ponseti treatment which entailed extensive physiotherapy as well as casting to one of his feet. Thankfully Seth has made a full recovery and now walks normally, runs around, plays football, rides his bike and enjoys swimming like most 5 year old boys. My every footfall on the pavement throughout all the training and ultimately the race itself reminds me how lucky he has been and he is definitely with me every step of the way!
Getting a place to run such an iconic race for STEPS only furthers my motivation to succeed both in training, the race itself, and most importantly in achieving the sponsorship goal for such an amazing charity that helped my family when we really needed it, and who continue to help so many other children like Seth.
Please dig deep and contribute to this wonderful cause!
