Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving Page.

From the moment I arrived in Rome after walking from the Valle d’ Aosta along 999km of La Via Francigena last year, I’ve been plotting to get back out to Italy to do something similar again. The experience was exhilarating and life changing and I continue to think about it every day.

Now at last I’m nearly ready to begin the next adventure. The painful feet, a broken toe and not least, the drama of being winched in to a rescue helicopter are now just distant memories and did nothing to put me off. Any discomforts pale in to insignificance when I remember the delicious food and wine, stunning scenery, and the many kind and generous people I met while I walked.

I will begin this next trek on the 1st October 2014 following the Way of Saint Francis (San Francesco) which starts in La Verna and ends in Assisi however; I intend to continue to walk on a bit further and finish in Rome, which takes the distance up to about 500km.  I hope that you will follow me on my journey on my blog Proseccomedic.com where I will post updates and lots of photographs.

My goals are to arrive in Rome in one bit on the 20th October, raise lots and lots of money for Amnesty International and have an absolute ball in the process!
