Story
Always up for a challenge so here I am. Very proud to be running the Half Marathon at Run Reigate to raise money for St. Catherine's Hospice in Crawley.
And here is why.
Rachael. A beautiful soul who's life has been cut short when she lost her battle to cancer.
She was an incredible strong women, wife to Tim and amazing mum to her two young sons Archie and Josh. She'll be dearly missed by all her family and friends!
The first time I met Rachael we did a Spin class together.
Little did I know that our paths were going to cross again very soon under very different circumstances.
Part of my job as a nurse within the diagnostic imaging department is looking after patients who are either right at the beginning of their cancer journey having a biopsy taken or are further down the line and are in need of other procedures.
And here, I was able to be there for Rachael to support her through a very terrifying time.
Especially when Covid hit and visiting restrictions were in place.
I feel blessed that my job enables me to make a difference to those patients in such a worrying and intense time.
Which only leaves me with great admiration for all the staff at St. Catherine's who are doing an amazing job. Making a huge difference to the patients and their families!
So when my lovely friend Laura, who was a very close friend of Rachael's asked me if I would join her running the half marathon, I was in!
Please see our Team Page for more details!
So if you would like to support me in raising money for a very good cause any amount is greatly appreciated!
Thank you ❤️
Love, Lia
