Story
Allan Gray our much loved Dad and friend to many sadly lost his battle on Monday 27th April against the Covid 19 virus whilst in the care of the ITU staff at James Cook Hospital.
Allan was in hospital for nearly 21 days and whilst he was there the amazing staff worked tirelessly to try and save, care for and support him and all the family through this extremely tough time.
The whole family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to every single member of staff that cared for him. These people are inspirational and worked so hard in such a special place we will always be in their gratitude.
During these unprecedented times with the covid-19 restrictions, it has been arranged for Allan to be cremated on the 12th May 2020 in his beloved home town of Newcastle, surrounded by a restricted number of close family and friends.
We have been overwhelmed by the amount of kind messages and offers of support.
Knowing Allan as well as we do, we have made the decision to support James Cook Hospital's Covid-19 charity and would kindly ask instead of flowers and gifts that people make a donation in Allan's memory to help support such a special cause.
He would be very proud to know that his memory will continue to help and support others, as he did all his life.
