Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last week Dad, and his wife, Hazel were walking in Glen Nevis, when all of a sudden, dad lost his footing, and fell down the gorge.....roughly 100 feet.
He lay at the bottom, unconscious, and bleeding, while Hazel was utterly helpless at the top, calling and calling for him but getting no response.
Two Mountain rescue teams came, managed to get to dad, who was in a real mess, and calm Hazel down. Eventually dad was brought back up the gorge and transported to Fort William hospital urgently. He has a shattered ankle, various broken ribs, two punctured lungs, and broken bones in his ear and cheek, not to mention the numerous cuts and bruises. He was in the high dependency unit for 4 days, until he stabilised, and then was allowed home, where he is beginning his recovery.
Had it not been for the prompt and professional care that Dad received from the mountain rescue, the result would not have been so good. We have all had such a fright, especially Hazel, and we would like to raise funds for the team, which survives on charity, to say thank you in a small way......although we honestly couldn't raise enough to properly convey our thanks.
