I am fundraising for Alzheimer Scotland, i am doing this through various activities, weight loss challenge, climbing Ben A'an, tea/coffee afternoons, donation boxes etc Alzheimers Scotland is a charity very close to my heart. My mum died 5 years ago this coming August to mark the 5th anniversary i want to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland and in particular the Forget Me Knot appeal, at Oxford Street in Glasgow. this is an invaluable voluntary service that provides people with dementia, either in a care home or hospital a very much appreciated visit. Many people for varying reasons have no one to visit them and this service provides a bit of company for a while each week.
My mum was diagnosed at the age of 60 with early onset Alzheimers it was heartbreaking to watch the deterioration of a beautiful fun mum, slowly turn into someone we no longer knew. Its an awful disease, we watched our mum die twice and this is what all families have to face, when this destructive disease takes hold.
It would be lovely if you could make a donation and i thank you very much in advance if you do.
I will keep you up to date with our progress
