Story

We're taking part in the Kiltwalk to raise vital funds for maternal health research at the University of Aberdeen! As a family we know that getting pregnant isn't always a walk in the park and can cause so much stress and anxiety - being educated about maternal health before and after getting pregnant is so important! We've also seen and felt the heartbreak of losing a baby so we want to make sure that the fantastic work that the researchers do at the University can carry on to help other people have happy and healthy family's!

The research taking place at the Aberdeen Centre for Women's Health Research (ACWHR) is dedicated to finding important answers to maternal health issues including fertility issues, maternal nutrition & social issues, miscarriage & still birth, and post-natal complications. From 2024, the team will be based alongside NHS colleagues in the new Baird Family Hospital allowing them to work together to provide the best patient care to women and their families locally and internationally.
