Story
Every year the hospice has to raise a huge amount of money in addition to the funds we receive from the NHS. As CEO I see the difference our care makes to patients and their families and I know how every penny makes a difference. My father was in the old Arthur Rank Hospice and it was encountering the wonderful care of the whole Arthur Rank team that made me want to work at the hospice. When I am out and about people often stop me to tell about the very positive experience one of their friends, relative, neighbour, colleague has experienced and sadly I know that most people at some point will know someone who is receiving our care.
It would take a lot of cake baking for me to raise money for the hospice (and I am not sure anyone would pay for my cakes), I did the Sahara Trek a couple of years ago which was wonderful and I feel that I want to do something else to show how much I believe in what we do. I know that there are asks for sponsorship every day and so I quite understand if you don't feel able to contribute but perhaps you could wish me luck!
