Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Well - am I mad or is walking up hill and down dale for twenty six miles in Dad's memory proof that I'm passionate about supporting the Alzheimer's Society and their research? The latter - definitely, (for all those disagreeing and muttering that I truly am mad, please add another £1.00 to your donation!!)
Dementia of any kind is very hard to live with; the person you love, the person you could always turn to, the person who supported you no matter what disappears before your eyes and no matter how hard you try, there's nothing you can do. I was Dad's carer for the last four years of his life and it was hard; not in the manual sense, but an emotional one. Dad held on to his sense of humour though, almost right to the end. He'd laugh at his own stories and we laughed with him even though we couldn't follow them; he was always joking, always making us laugh.
Me and Mum are lost without him and I so wish I could 'Dance With My Father Again'.
So please dig as deep as you are able and donate now.
Thank you, Lots of Love,
Lynn xx
