Story
I have wanted to run The London Marathon for years now, having 1st applied for the 2003 marathon. Year after year of receiving a "no" in the public ballot, I decided this is the year to enter The London Marathon through a charity. I will be taking on this huge challenge for Sense.
£250 could give a Sense Children and Family Support Worker crucial time to teach a child to communicate and experience the world.
£135 could help pay for a family to share precious moments together on a Sense Family Day.
£73 could pay for a Pop-up Sensory - a dark tent that blocks out natural light that can be disorienting for children with visual impairments.
£45 could pay for a sensory book bag containing a big book version of a children's story, soft toy versions of the characters and scented items to smell, bringing a traditional children's story to life.
£20 could pay for an umbrella with twinkling lights inside, used to create a mini-sensory environment for a child in a cot, or hospital bed.
£7.50 could pay for a glowing ball that changes colour in the hands of the person holding it, showing people with sensory impairments how they can affect their environment.
£5 could pay for a set of musical bells used in music therapy to help stimulate children with complex disabilities.
Sense is a national Charity that supports people who are deafblind and those with complex disabilities, to be understood, connected and valued. They are there for every person who faces communication barriers in a world that relies on being able to see and hear well to be connected. Together we can unlock barriers to communication so no one is isolated, left out or unable to fulfil their potential.
