Story
I am delighted and slightly petrified to be taking on the London Triathlon on Sunday 6th August to raise money for Breathe Arts Health Research.
It’s been 4 years since I’ve been on a bike, and I continue to have a love/hate relationship with running so I will need all the motivation and luck I can get!
You might be wondering why I am putting myself through this….and if I’m honest I’m wondering the same….HOWEVER, my early morning runs, swimming in the Thames and putting pedal to the metal is all in aid of Breathe Arts Health Research (Breathe).
As part of the staff team at Breathe, I have the absolute pleasure of seeing day-in day-out the genuine difference our creative healthcare programmes have for those who participate in them.
We use creativity (dance, magic, music, poetry and visual arts and singing) to make life-long improvements to people’s health and wellbeing. Whether it’s helping a young person who’s had a brain injury use a knife and fork for the first time, giving hope to a new mum who’s struggling with postnatal depression or improving lung capacity through singing for those with respiratory conditions. Everything we do is underpinned by research, meaning we KNOW it works!
I am super proud of the work we do at Breathe. If you can sponsor a little or a lot, I am truly grateful for any support.
You can find out more about the brilliant programmes we run here: https://breatheahr.org/
Wish me luck!!!!
