My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know I’ve been volunteering for Victim Support for over a year now so when my friend asked me if I wanted to complete the Thames Path Challenge it seemed the perfect opportunity to raise money for such a worthwhile charity. The challenge involves walking 50K (31 miles) which is going to take about 12 hours!! Starting at Putney Bridge and ending up at Runnymead, the walk follows the Thames Path. Please see the link for more information. www.thamespathchallenge.com
Without question I knew that if I was going to do this challenge I would want to fundraise for Victim Support. A national charity giving free and confidential help to victims of crime, witnesses, their family, friends and anyone else affected across England and Wales. They are not a government agency or part of the police and you don't have to report a crime to the police to get help. You can call the organisation any time after the crime has happened, whether it was yesterday, last week or several years ago.
Victim Support makes a difference to so many people’s lives, helping victims and witnesses of all types of crime, from those who have been burgled or harassed to victims of domestic violence and sexual violence. Many victims and witnesses of crime have no family or friends to turn to and Victim Support quite literally becomes their lifeline.
I would really appreciate it if you were able to sponsor me for this walk. If you have ever been a victim of crime or know someone that has been, however serious, you will know it leaves the victim with an awful feeling of being violated. You may have family and friends that you can turn to but so many people don’t.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you so much.

P.S. Due to the imminent change in structure to the Mayor's Office of Policing and Crime (MOPC) unfortunately means that Victim Support may be at risk of losing funding. This will adversely compromise the service we will be able to deliver. I would be most grateful if you could go to the link below in order to sign our e-petition.
