Friends of Asha (GB) raises money and awareness for the work of Asha Community Health and Development Society. Asha works in 90+ slum colonies in Delhi, India. It improves health and provides support and education for over 750,000 slum dwellers, enabling them to make positive changes to their lives.

Story

On the 10th October, I am off to Delhi for 8 weeks to volunteer in one of Delhi's slums for Asha, a charity that empowers the slum community through education and building projects. I will be teaching English to some of the students in the Delhi slums.

All of the money raised will be going straight to the charity, towards putting the students in the slums through university. £800 covers the entire admission and preparation process and all University expenses for one child for one year, including University preparation workshops, University tuition fees, course books and new clothes so that the children do not feel out of place when they go to University.

I really appreciate anything that you can give, It will make a huge difference to the lives of these students.
