Story
Hello friends,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page; it already means a lot to me that you’re making the time to find out about the charity I want to support. As some of you may be aware, Dementia UK is a charity that supports a cause very close to my heart.
My mum is someone who throughout her life has always been incredibly active, running her own marathon at 50, cycling from Southshields to John O’Groats not long before that and relishing any opportunity to run upstairs two at a time, stomp up the steep hills of the South Downs and race anyone and everyone willing to compete. Full of competitive spirit, she is an apt inspiration for me as I look ahead at a rigorous training routine in preparation for the London Marathon on April 23rd.
Dementia UK is an equally inspiring charity, that supports families caring for people with Dementia. Dementia is a degenerative condition
that is predicted to affect over 1 million people come the year 2025, meaning nearly all of us will know someone living with the condition. Dementia UK funds the training and deployment of their specialist Admiral Nurses who support those who would otherwise find it difficult to access dementia care.
Counting myself among those who now sadly knows and loves someone affected by the condition, I understand how much this support is a must. I know this is a tricky time to be asking anyone to dig deep, but please give what you can; be it large or small, every penny is hugely appreciated.
Massive thanks,
Lydia X
