Story
Today something lovely happened and it gave me an idea. I'm dedicating my once a day lockdown walk with my dog Lula to entertain kids around my local neighbourhood in Fife. At the same time, raising awareness and much needed funds for a brilliant charity called Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).
We'll be walking for 1 hour starting at 1 p.m. around the streets of Rosyth, Fife and will stop to wave and do dog tricks to entertain any local kids we pass at a distance or see in their windows in aid of CHAS.
I got the idea after taking Lula out for our first proper walk in nearly 2 weeks due to self-isolating after having flu symptoms.
It brightened my day to see the kid's rainbows up in the windows as I took Lula on a very excitable walk in her own rainbow harness. Now I'd love to return the favour.
On our walk earlier - a little girl on a tricyle spotted us and shouted: "Mummy look, there's a doggy!" I waved and said hello to her and her mum at a distance and then made her laugh by doing tricks with Lula as she looked on across the street shrieking with happiness.
After walking another 10 minutes, we spotted two more toddlers in their living room window. So I waved and did some tricks with Lula to make then smile and they began jumping about and waving back.
I hope by doing this I can make some local kids happy during this awful situation whilst raising awareness and vital funds for a great charity.
CHAS is a registered charity that provides palliative medical care and supportive activities to children with life-shortening conditions across Scotland. They work tirelessly to #KeepTheJoyAlive for every child who may not live as long as expected and are even more worried right now.
Please give what you can here on my JustGiving page and help the children and families CHAS cares for through this corona virus crisis.
