Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In December 2012 Carol's beautiful, young, and newlywed sister Lulu announced she had stage 4 peritoneal cancer. We were in deep shock and fearful of what it meant. Family and friends rallied and our action was to support Lulu as best we could through her weekly chemo and the "rubbish days" which followed, as well as the major surgical procedure and its convalescence which was also required. Lulu showed unbelievable determination and positivity which helped her treatment for the great results of "cancer gone" in the summer of 2013. Sadly the 6 month check-up showed the little blighters had returned and another plan of attack was required. So new monthly chemo's started and we, her friends and family, supported Lulu again as best as we could while she did all the hard work. Lulu is now coming to the end of that treatment and is making great progress. We are all keeping our fingers crossed she hears the "caner gone" words again soon.
All the while, inspired by Lulu, we have supported her in fundraising - she has a target of £10,000 for the Eve Appeal, Cancer Research, and Macmillan. All three have provided unexpected and vital support to Lulu and the family. We want to thank them by raising money for them to catch anyone with cancer when they fall, and keep researching to beat cancer forever.
So, this time, 6 of us - Lulu's Luscious Lopers - will be raising money for the Eve Appeal by walking their Stonehenge Trekathon. Lulu will be our head cheerleader on the day - she is amazing and we can't think of a better person to keep us going. If you want to join Lulu then please let her know.
Please give what you can, even £1 does make a difference. Last month we raised an incredible £1500 for a 10k race for life - please support us as we aim to match it for 26 miles of trekking!
