Story
17th March 2011 - I, Luke Riches will embark on my toughest challenge yet :
To Climb Mount Kilimanjaro ( With my friend Jemma )...
2 People - 10 Days - 19,340 Feet !
You may or may not know last year I took part in Cycling from Basingstoke - Paris and successfully completed all 180 miles. So I thought I'd up the anti this year and go Vertical ( with a friend )!
Kilimanjaro is the tallest free standing mountain in the world, and I'll be trekking for 10 days through varying terrains where the climate changes from humid rainforests to rocky moon scape deserts through wind, rain and sunshine, to the top to reach the snow-capped summit (Uhuru peak)
My chosen charity is Macmillans Cancer Support.
I chose this particular charity, because 1 in every 3 of us will or has already suffered or lost a loved one to this life threating disease.
Cancer affects every single person in some way, shape or form, and its time we found a cure.
I'm dedicating the next year of my life to train, focus and motivate myself, so that I can raise enough money to make this challenge worth while, and hopefuly with your help, SAVE LIVES.
Find out more about where 100% of the money raised is going too : http://www.macmillan.org.uk
Please support me in participating in this event. Donations are more important than ever as I need to meet/exceed the above target to be able too take part.
Please, Please, Please, Dig Deep And Donate All You Can, from 10p to £10, every little really does count, and together will make a difference to 100's of sufferes, familys, friends, Husbands, Wive's and Children.
I couldn't do this without you all,
So .....Thank - You.
