Story
On Sunday 28th April 2019 I will be taking part in the London Marathon in support of Muscular Dystrophy UK
I've wanted to take part in the London Marathon for the past 5 years but each time I entered the ballot I was unsuccessful.
One way to guarantee a place is through a charity. I work for a company called Dawleys in Ross-On-Wye, of whom one of our clients are Muscular Dystrophy, so I thought it would be great to run for them.
The second reason I decided to approach Muscluar Dystophy for a place was because I watched DIY SOS which was filmed near where I live in Herefordshire. They were working on a house renovation for a young 7 year old boy was diagnosed with Duchenne Myscluar Dystrophy, It was a heartbreaking story which finally pushed me to apply for a place.
I am really thankful for any donations made :)
A quick overview of who Muscular Dystrophy are:
Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for the 70,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. We bring together people affected by more than 60 rare and very rare progressive muscle-weakening and wasting conditions.
Muscle-wasting conditions are very rare, affecting just over one in every 1,000 people. As a result, some health professionals may never come across anyone with a muscle-wasting condition and may not know much about them. But we do.
