Story
Very sadly in the past year we have lost two fantastic members of our families, Beryl Roche and Ernest (Ernie) Wade. They were both loving Parents, Grandparents and Great Grandparents and are missed very much by all that knew them.
In later life both Beryl and Ernie both suffered with heart issues, which sadly saw them both fall unwell. Our families would greatly appreciate a donation (no matter how small) to the British Heart foundation.
To kick off the day on Sunday 30th April Luke will be taking part in a private half marathon run (21KM or 13 miles) in memory of Beryl and Ernie. Other family members will complete smaller parts of the run with Luke, which will start in Old Windsor, move through Runneymede, Staines, Wraysbury and Datchet. He will complete the half marathon back at Old Windsor Recreation ground before 11AM (if all goes to plan).
On this day Old Windsor FC (which was a huge part of Ernie's life) will be holding a Memorial day (family day) for Ernie. At 11AM there will be a friendly game between old and current Old Windsor FC players. Players will be asked for a donation prior to the game.
The club will also be putting on a BBQ (after the friendly game) and the bar will be open throughout different parts of the day. Ernie and Beryl's families would like this to be family friendly day, so throughout the day there will be some small activities to keep the children entertained.
Throughout the day the club will be unveiling some small tributes in Ernie's memory.
